About
For David Vanclieaf, photography is more than capturing a beautiful place. It is about capturing the feeling of being there.
Drawn to wild landscapes, quiet shorelines, rugged forests and the endless horizons of Canada, David brings a sense of adventure to every image he creates. From the ground to the sky, his passion for landscape and aerial photography is driven by one goal: to reveal familiar places from a perspective that makes you stop, look twice, and feel something.
Whether he is chasing first light over Muskoka, flying above a glass-calm lake, or waiting for the perfect moment deep in the forest, David creates photographs that celebrate the raw beauty, silence and scale of the Canadian landscape.
This isn’t simply photography. It’s a lifelong pursuit of moments worth remembering.
The Story Behind The Artist -
David Vanclieaf
Photographer & Storyteller
Photography is where I slow down and pay attention. From quiet lakes and rugged forests to wildlife and changing skies, I’m drawn to the landscapes and moments that make Canada feel like home. My goal is to create work that carries some of that feeling into the spaces where it’s displayed.
Aerial Perspective
Taking to the sky changed the way I see a landscape. Drone photography allows me to discover patterns, scale and perspectives that simply can’t be seen from the ground. It has become an important part of my work and the way I tell stories about the places I explore.
Where It Started
My love of being above the landscape started long before I ever flew a drone. Flying introduced me to an entirely different view of the world and sparked a fascination with seeing familiar places from unfamiliar perspectives. Today, that influence continues through my aerial photography.
The Fine Art Mission
I’ve always been drawn to the places that make you stop for a second. A quiet lake at sunrise. Mist lifting through the trees. A stretch of Canadian wilderness that feels completely untouched.
Photography became my way of holding onto those moments.
Based in Ontario, my work is inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, and rugged beauty of Canada, with a special connection to Muskoka and Lake of Bays. From the ground to the sky, I’m constantly searching for a different perspective, especially through aerial photography, where familiar places become something entirely new.
For me, it isn’t simply about creating a beautiful photograph. It’s about capturing a feeling, a memory, and a piece of a place that someone can bring into their home and keep for years.
This is Canada as I see it.
Quiet. Wild. Timeless.
